The Amer Act Gets Mention in The Dearborn Times-Herald Newspaper
Our kids are adults now, and have been brainwashed to reject the fact that the devastation that our family endured was a result of Injustice. Our children have said that there were saved from us through the State's removal. As loving parents, we fought to bring the cries of our son, Samier, from the grave to reveal the truth of the injustice that we have endured. Our mission is to make sure this tragedy does not happen to other innocent families and children, and so that our son's tears and the tears of anyone who suffers this injustice does not continue to be unheard, please take the time to view the proposed "Amer Act" and sign the petition.

Polidori Introduces Legislation to Improve Foster Care
LANSING – State Representative Gino H. Polidori (D-Dearborn) today introduced legislation to improve the process of foster care placement in Michigan.
“This bill will help ease the strain associated with the foster care process,” said Polidori. “I am pleased to be able to bring this proposal forward, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to see that it becomes law.”
House Bill 6251 would amend the Michigan law to give priority to placement in the home of a foster child’s relatives. It would also allow special consideration for the placement of a child into a family of the same religion as the child's immediate family. The intent of the legislation is to ease the transition for children who enter a foster setting.
“The experience of leaving one family and joining another is already a shock to most children,” Polidori explained. “What we are trying to do is to allow them to transition as easily and comfortably as possible, and to respect the traditions in which the children are raised in the early years of their life.
Polidori said that he was prompted to introduce this bill by a Dearborn family who struggled through a difficult ordeal. Ahmed and Rehab Amer were blamed for the death of one of their young children, but were later found to have been falsely accused. In the interim, however, their remaining children were taken in by homes with vastly different lifestyles than the one in which the they had been raised to that point. The children were re-named and brought up in different religious traditions.
“The Amers have suffered greatly through no fault of their own,” Polidori added. “And while we cannot negate their hardship, it is our duty to make sure that the same thing does not happen to another family.”
