WISE Academy supports our mission by housing the AMER Foundation office. Not only does the AMER Foundation work to protect children and keep families together, but to also enhance their lives through enrichment programs. WISE Academy provides such programs, including counseling and extracurricular activities.

Wayne State University - School of Social Work

The AMER Foundation has partnered with the Wayne State University School of Social Work as a placement site for social work students seeking an internship. At AMER, social workers will have the opportunity to gain their internship training and experience a hands-on approach to advocacy with court appearances, meeting families, and assisting with cases. This will provide students with first-hand insight into the importance of working with families and seeing what is in the best interest of the children. The emotional needs of the children are our priority when it comes to placing them within their familiar surroundings as well ensuring all necessary steps will be taken to keep families together with court approval according to the State Amer law. Therefore, this partnership will serve as an additional pathway of resource to benefit both children and their parents.
